It’s been 11 years since Disney acquired Star Wars and Lucasfilm and three sequel films, two prequel films, and almost 10 television shows later…with more in the pipeline, it looks like Star Wars will continue in perpetuity. A few projects got lost in the fold, though, getting derailed, moved around, or outright canceled.
Patty Jenkins was supposed to direct a Rogue Squadron movie that got shelved, but now might eventually be back on target for release down the line. There was also Colin Trevorrow directing Star Wars: Episode IX, before leaving the project entirely. On Happy Sad Confused with Josh Horowitz, another project that never saw the light of day was revealed: David Goyer wrote an unproduced Star Wars script that was to be directed by Guillermo Del Toro..
